Eighty years are more than a milestone. They are a journey built on hard work, passion, courage, vision, relationships and, above all, people.

Sipcam Oxon's 80th anniversary coincides with another important milestone: the 40th anniversary of Sipcam Agro USA, established in 1986.

Four decades of growth and development have strengthened Sipcam Oxon's presence across North America, paving the way for further expansion with the launch of Sipcam Agro Solutions in 2023 and Sipcam Agro Canada in 2024.

Together, these companies combine global expertise with a strong understanding of local agriculture and its evolving needs, while continuing to drive innovation across the region.

One of the latest examples is FieldMax™, a drone-supported technology designed to provide a reliable assessment of biostimulants' performance under field conditions.

From 40 years of presence in the United States to new technologies in the field, North America is another example of how strong roots, local expertise and innovation continue to shape our future. Happy 40th anniversary to our colleagues at Sipcam Agro USA! 

Sipcam has been present in the Spanish market since 1974. At the heart of this journey is our Sueca production site, located in the province of Valencia.

For over 50 years it has combined innovation, quality, and manufacturing excellence, supporting agriculture and serving customers around the world.

• Production of microgranules, biostimulants, and specialty fertilizers, with a manufacturing capacity of 1,500 tonnes per month.
• Logistics and distribution to more than 60 countries worldwide.
• More than 400 analytical methods to test and ensure the quality of every product.

Seven warehouses dedicated to raw materials and finished products, with a storage capacity of over 10,000 pallets.

We’re now in the 1980s and 1990s, and Sipcam Oxon continues its unstoppable journey, developing successful and innovative solutions for agriculture.

• First image – Clortosip, containing the fungicide chlorothalonil, played an important role in the control of a wide range of fungal diseases affecting cereals, vegetable crops and sugar beet. It is still marketed today in several countries under the name Echo.
• Second image – Click FL and Click 50 FL, based on terbuthylazine synthesised in Italy, these herbicides achieved great success in weed control in maize and sorghum.
• Third image – Brigata, containing FMC’s pyrethroid insecticide and acaricide bifenthrin, was developed both for foliar applications and as a soil insecticide formulation, marketed under the name Brigata Geo.
• Last image – Umostart, our first brand dedicated to starter nutrition and still a leading name in this field today, with its broad range of high-quality microgranular formulations.

For almost 80 years, we have continued to innovate while staying true to our roots and maintaining the same commitment to supporting agriculture.

For decades, Sipcam Oxon 🌳 has built a strong and valued partnership with Japan 🇯🇵, one of our most important technological and industrial collaborations, founded on mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to innovation.

We are sharing some of the messages of celebration received from all over the world, because each of us plays an essential role in developing a global and local, innovative and sustainable agriculture. 

Between the 1950s and 1960s, Sipcam Oxon was developing innovative solutions to address a wide range of needs, from agriculture to household pest control. Here are three examples from that era, takenfrom our historical archives.

• First image – Fruttene, based on ziram: the first organic fungicide developed by SipcamOxon.
• Second image – A household pest control formulation designed to combat ants and cockroaches.
• Third image – A product that was used to fumigate against flies, mosquitoes and sandflies, and which was a precursor to whatis now know as "mosquito coils”.

For nearly 80 years, we have continued to innovate while staying true to our roots and maintaining the same commitment to supporting agriculture.

The 1970s marked a decade of major innovation for Sipcam Oxon 🌳, with the introduction of new products that helped shape the future of modern agriculture.

From our historical archives, here are four milestones from that era:

• First image - Sipcaplant, an established solutions for the control of apple and pear scab, contributing to some of the earliest anti-resistance strategies.
• Second image – Lasso, an alachlor-based herbicide for maize, became a benchmark for pre-emergence weed control programs.
• Third image – Orthene, based on acephate, was introduced and successfully developed by SIPCAM, becoming a technical benchmark for the protection of stone fruit crops.

There is a date that marks the beginning of our story. On 5 March 1946, SIPCAM was founded. 

We have since evolved into an international group, while staying true to our founding values: independence, reliability, and industrial vision.

A new beginning in Milan, on Viale Cassiodoro: 80 years ago, the Sipcam logo was born! 

In December 1945, in his own home, founder Emilio Gagliardini imagined and drew what would later become the symbol of the Sipcam Oxon company. 

In March 1946, the sapling logo officially came to life, becoming the company’s distinctive trademark in every respect and subsequently evolving over the years through various redesigns.

What are the values that have shaped Sipcam Oxon over the past 80 years?

In this first episode of our series dedicated to the values that guide our company, Beatriz Marco, Business Partner and member of the Sipcam family for more than 30 years, shares her personal experience and reflects on the importance of trust, respect, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Through her story, Beatriz highlights the values that have inspired generations of people within Sipcam Oxon and continue to drive our growth, commitment, and success.

In 1949 Sipcam’s technical team launched "La Difesa", an annual publication dedicated to Italian farmers. For decades, it provided clear, practical guidance on crop-protection challenges and solutions – an essential reference at a time when technical expertise in the field was limited – demonstrating a long standing commitment to sharing knowledge and supporting agricultural progress.

In 1972, the new facility in Salerano sul Lambro, Italy, was opened, with dedicated areas for field and greenhouse trials.

30 hectares in total; 10,000 sqm of formulation facilities and 18,000 sqm finished-product warehouse; 15 hectares dedicated to the field station; Laboratories for R&D, synthesis, formulation, and quality control

Today, it remains one of the beating hearts of Sipcam Oxon.

Sipcam Oxon has operated in Brazil since 1979.

 The company is a joint venture between Sipcam Oxon and Nihon Nohyaku Co., Ltd., a long-established Japanese company specialising in the research and development of crop protection solutions. It celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024.

Sipcam Nichino Brasil employs nearly 200 people and operates across all major agricultural regions of the country. Its headquarters are located in São Paulo, and the company also operates an industrial plant in Uberaba, Minas Gerais.
